The Sierra exterior is similar to the other 2100 Sierra models without hybrid engine. In the Sierra Hybrid there are lower panels and nice green stripes with sign “hybrid” typed on them. In the Hybrid model there are also a “hybrid” badge on the rear window. The badges are also on the side mirrors and on the tailgate. There are no significant differences between Sierra Hybrid and other 2010 GM Sierra models.

The GM 2010 Sierra has got the interior quite similar to the other GM truck - Silverado. In Sierra you can find the exact sitting layout well known from GMC Silverado. Inside the crew cab can seat five or six adult people. The interior differences in Sierra hybrid is a “hybrid” badge right on tachometer and very useful fuel economy gauge. The navigation system is optional.

General Motors applied the two-mode hybrid system in its Sierra pickup. It enables “full” hybrid operations. Electric engine can be used to to cruise up to 20 mph. The V-8 gasoline unit launches when more power or acceleration is needed and of course at high speed. To gain the best performance, the electric units and gasoline engine work together. The Sierra Hybrid has got under the hood a 6.0-liter V-8 together with GM’s Electrically Variable Transmission. This is a gearbox that integrates double 60-kilowatt electric motors. The electric units draw power is taken from a 300-volt battery pack. The battery can recharge itself off from the generated power from the brakes. The gasoline engine generates 332 horsepower with a towing capacity of 6,100 pounds with rear-wheel drive version. Four wheel drive generates towing of 5,900 pounds — not as much as the regular Sierra’s 10,500-pound maximum towing capacity. It isn’t a bad result for a hybrid.

Standard version of 2010 Sierra Hybrid includes a tailoring package with locking rear differential. there are also a side curtain and side-impact airbags. In GMC Sierra you can find a four-wheel antilock brakes and fully electronic stability system.

The only viewable changes are very detailed. the USB audio playback with recharging for certain MP3 devices - is it a change?? General Motors wanted to improve its interiors and they have paid a lot for the Silverado’s spacious cab. All the materials are really softer it can be feel by the first touch, the horrible gaps are tighter and looks smoother. The surfaces in Siverado are some kind of flush. The designers took their inspiration from the Tahoe which is strictly targeted to the luxury owners. The other trims looks like those who use their trucks as a utility vehicle. While General Motors does not have many interior packages but the Ford got them enough to feed all of your needs.
